Message from Founder, Bruce Tin.

If you are seeing this page, it means you and Tkong have officially reached the five-year mark.

Looking back on this journey, I’ve come to realize that Tkong has already travelled a path that is far from short. Over the past five years, it has gone through many changes to become what you see today. Along the way, it has also been closely intertwined with my own personal growth — from a 13-year-old boy to an 18-year-old young adult.

Today, as I reflect on these five years and everything that has happened along the way, there are achievements worth sharing, and also experiences I would rather not revisit. It is the combination of both the positive and the negative that has gradually shaped Tkong into what it is today.

Tkong is not perfect. Its content updates have not always been consistent, and delays have become more noticeable over time. However, it is now undergoing a transition toward a new direction — focusing more on culture and society, rooted in Hong Kong, and committed to producing more original reporting and analysis. We hope to break through the long-standing information silos within the Chinese-speaking world.

Tkong aims to bring universal values to Chinese audiences, while also sharing Asian culture with the world. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds, yet remains deeply rooted in Asia. I believe we are capable of contributing meaningfully to cultural exchange — helping Chinese audiences better understand and embrace universal values, while allowing English-speaking audiences to develop a deeper interest in Asia beyond stereotypes.

I hope that in the next five years, we will all be well — and that we will meet again.

Bruce Tin,
Founder of Tkong.
